However, for me personally one stands out among the crowd. Since the last decade also included the birth of my 3 children, the DVR is without a doubt something that I could not live without ever again (well, until on demand is available for everything). I would not have seen a single complete episode of any show that started before 10pm for the last 5 years without being able to pause or record.
Anyway, that is my take on the best tech for the past decade. Please let me know what piece of tech effected you the most.

iPhone for me, unmatched. Add Mac OS X and Skype to it and you get the winning combo of the decade.
Widespread broadband is key. Being able to quickly access online services, video and media from so many places has made technology easy to adopt. iTunes, YouTube, even facebook are rich experiences that are enabled by fast connections.
3G, hands down. Without high-speed mobile internet, devices like the iPhone and Droid are not possible.
The DVR is a close second but, while I know it's a pedestrian pick, I'd have to say the iPhone. I was one of the dorks in line on day 1 to get it and I have to say, it changed the way I was able to work and move around.
It's a tough choice but I would go with wireless broadband, spending my life in the sofa being useful instead of watching TV.

With the coming up of wireless broadband , it makes more simpler than before. while working , you cna sit or wok at anywhere whereever you want.
