I'm heading out to FITC in San Francisco in a few weeks and am starting to get excited. I've never been to an FITC event, though I've certainly heard tell of it around secluded campfires and in the back rooms of dimly-lit bars. And in the open, and on the internet, and from a lot of people on twitter who agree that this conference is going to be great.

Flash in the Can started as a Flash-focused event over 8 years ago. Since then they've held over 30 conferences around the world and expanded the topics to include general web-design, mobile design and development, more technical topics like application architecture, and motion graphics. It's still very Adobe-centric at the core but expanded to cover the rest of the web technology universe.

I'm excited to keep learning more about Android in the Android-only topics and the topics that talk about how to use AIR on Android. I'm also looking forward to hearing from some brilliant speakers who I haven't heard at other conferences, including Grant Skinner, Colin Moock and Ben Fry. The speakers will be covering a pretty wide variety of topics both in and out of the Adobe standard eco-system, and it will be interesting to hear from people I haven't heard speak before.

I'm also looking forward to hanging out with some of the awesome people in our RIA community again. It's been a while since 360 | Flex when I last saw a lot of these speakers and other attendees, so I'm looking forward to reconnecting.

Finally, it's in San Francisco. Who doesn't like to visit San Francisco?

FITC is just a few weeks away, but there are still spots available. If you haven't registered yet head over to the registration page. Are you going to be there? I'll be covering the event for InsideRIA, so please be sure to stop by and say hello.
