Poll Results: How is the economy affecting your job security?

The results of our poll seem to show that the economic problems have not effected those in our industry as much as those in other areas of work. Our poll results show that almost 40% of our readers have still plenty of work, while the majority of the rest have seem a slowdown but are still employed.

Hopefully, those who have been effected by the overall economic downturn will find work as it seems like there is work available. If you are in a position where you have too much work or your company is hiring, please feel free to post the opportunity in the comments of this post.

We are hiring Java and Flash programmers, and actually having a hard time finding them.

Hi,
it depends on your skillset, really. There is a big demand that isn't met for Flex developers, and a little less so for Java. But with a down economy or not, there is work for those who have the right(dare I say trendy with all the right kewords?) resume.

im in the oil and gas industry and just found out this morning that a few is being fired at the end of the month because of the economy. im an iraq vet. injured in the line of duty. my family and i may very well lose all income. this is not good for me...you be the judge
